So I got my nikkor 105 1.8 apart and cleaned my aperture blades and put all of that back together. There are some soap marks from before when someone was in here in one part between two elements. FOR THE LIFE OF ME! I am unable to get this apart. I have two rubber jar openers and am putting plenty of force but this piece feels like it's glued together!

Any suggestions on how to unscrew the brass part at the bottom? (not sure if it's brass just describing)

Glued together lens elements are quite common (not just glass-to-glass surfaces, but also groups of elements glued together to preserve the correct distance). This could very well be the case. These lensrs are generally deemed un-cleanable by non-professionaös, and even have a sticky thread in this forum. Dissolving the glue and removing the element(s) could give you problems with achieving proper alignment when putting it back. They probably were glued together for a reason... I would leave it alone, unless the image quality is affected.

I haven't disassembled this lens in particular so i don't know if these two parts are screwed together.

But when i need to unscrew threads that had been glued together in a lens i use acetone (nail polish remover from any pharmacy should do it), just a couple of drops in the thread, leave it for few seconds and then apply force. but be very careful not to use it on or around any plastic as it will dissolve it (the cap of my D200 is a bit "sticky" because of that).

If this is giving you too much trouble and the image quality is not being affected i agree with sceptic, just leave it as it is.

Good luck.
