Throw its FD mount away, get a Nik mount instead. Fix the lens and mount with glue.

So, nice matching on 0.3~1.2 metre focusing with Nik-->4/3 adapter.

Olympus E330 + canon FD 1.8/50

Infinity?.......very easy.

Just get the adapter off, mount the lens (with Nikon mount) directly to the E330 camera.

Nikon and 4/3 mount can be matched and locked!! I just know and tried it (turn the lens counterclockwise as Nikon lenses).

It can focus from ~1.5 metre to infitity (and over) by this way.

This is ~2 metre focusing.

and this is infinity focusing.

Yes, as you said, screw the Nikon mount DIRECTLY into E330 (4/3 mount). The bottom of the Nik mount must be bored to have nothing to protect touching with electric contact inside the camera.

It almost 100% match between these two mount.
