Next September there's Photokina which takes place every two years and Canon like all companies needs to have a big bang for Photokina and that will be the 5D MkII.
THey will not waste it by launching it in April.

Well, there is not only the Photokina but also the PMA 08 in Brisbane, Australia - quite important for the Asian and American market. And this takes place in May 2008...

I started to look for a 5d. Originally the thought was to wait for the MII. The prices for the original are just to appealing getting well under $2000 now for a new body. After being a late hold-out to make the digital jump now I really enjoy it. It would be a shame to go this spring and summer and fall without full frame and use of my Zuiko 21/2 but for with film. Can the new camera really be worth the extra $1500-$2000 that it will cost. Look at the amazing work that Orio and others have done with the 5d original.

If I was in wide angle I would take a 5D azap.

I also would if I felt comfortable with spending the money. But I don't and my wife wouldn't do either. Wink
You know, I have the best wife in the world. She accepts my crazy habit with a smile. I will never risk that. Very Happy

Carsten

Good for you. It's never worth risking domestic discord for a hobby. I simply tell my wife that anything that arrives was a"bargain $10". Very Happy Very Happy Very Happy
