Edgar... well Shocked
Very nice "extractions" !
Congrats. I like the sails very much, beautiful painting !
and bright idea for the clouds.

Jan, I like the way you make this picture clean, simple and natural.
Like this it could be placed in Rolf's minimal landscape contest (not more than 5 elements, no mankind traces).

thank you... I love minimal landscape, but I'm far from artists like Rawhead:

https://www.flickr.com/photos/rawhead/

Compared with his photos I'm not even a beginner..

Yes Jan, Rawhead makes wonderful pictures, as well in B&W as in colour.
He masters contrasts, moods, composition and the choice of subjects.

Sorry for the delays...

I like very much Edgar's "sails painting".
Boats completely wiped out is an interesting approach.
I think that keeping some is better for the mood of the picture. Only Nurkov did it, so this is my choice.

So, Nurkov is this "2 weeks" P&P contest winner. Wink

Please Nurkov, proceed to a new one. Like 1 small

Thanks for kind words, todays picture is a badly scanned and expired kodak gold 200 film snapshot. Taken on minolta X300. Surely colors are way off but try to do something more with it, change composition maybe? remove people? lamp posts? pathways? I dont know more is better for me Smile

Hello everyone, been busy with work recently, and now I'm suffering with the Lightroom update, so here is something done with Paintshop Pro X4 Smile

Hello Hugh.
What's messy with the Lightroom update ?
I suppose it's the LR6 version.

edit : I just read this article in DPReview
http://www.dpreview.com/articles/9338796360/adobe-issues-lightroom-6-2-apology-and-update?utm_source=newsletter&utm_medium=email&utm_campaign=generic&ref_=pe_1822230_153024800
Adobe released an update this very monday.

Well, after the update, the first time I tried importing photos, I had to button my PC. Opening Lightroom after, showed the imported images, however after running Lightroom for a a couple of hours, my PC had exhausted all available memory; Lightroom showed a commit charge of 26gb, and closing Lightroom meant everything else started working properly again! I'm just a bit wary of it at the moment!

Winning picture below, interesting effect plus removing objects, only issue for me is that i would use that effect for greens only, trees and grass but still nice colors, congrats Jan

Here is my proposal.
I reframed in 16:9 and tried to enhance some characters of the scene.

#1

I couldn't quite decide what I wanted to do with it, so in the end I went for a mono...

Tried out Pixlr (online editor) and came up with this.

"The egoist"

I made a little cleaning... 21 pages now.
I suppressed all posts that were with broken links, made during the server crash period.
