Hi,
I may well be one of the first European users of this brand new lens.
There is some information about the lens here :
http://petapixel.com/2015/01/05/venus-60mm-f2-8-ultra-macro-worlds-first-21-magnification-lens-infinity-focus/
The lens feels very solid, and heavy, but is perfectly usable on my Oly E-M1 (micro 4/3) with its grip.
On a Nikon FF camera, there's probably going to be a bit of vignetting, and some pincushion distortion (not tested myself)
These are pictures I shot recently :
All in all, I am definitely happy with the performance so far ...

Thanks for sharing, it's good to see some examples from an owner.
I hear the mfd at 2:1 is about 6cm, is that right? _________________ Gary

I just measured that, it is correct, 6 cm from the front of the lens, not from the sensor plane.

This lens interests me a lot, although it has some drawbacks for me personally. I would like to see ore shots with it and I will follow this thread with interest.

hi rafael,
interesting pics! may i ask you if the color rendition is different, in your experience, from your other legacy lenses? is it very heavy? i have and use different macro lenses and close focus standard lenses for different purposes and so will probably not be giving your lens a whirl but it delights me to see the uptick in original lens production out of china. _________________ "one cat just leads to another" e.h. |
