Suggested products?
I guess liquid = Eclipse 2
What about the swabs, which is the best?

To be safe, send it to Canon. Many people screwed up cleaning their sensors. I'm not sure i'd risk cleaning mine myself...

Strange again.
I just bought from Ebay the cleaning fluid and sensor swab.
I open the forum and I read this reply to a forgotten thread of one month ago.

Another coincidence??
I have the Ebay auction numbers if you don't believe.

@ naplam: Canon servicing will keep my 5D for at least one month. No way! I'd rather send them Monica for one month.
Hmm perhaps I'll do better erasing the last sentence.
Shocked

Laughing erase it before we all quote it haha

I've never cleaned the sensor myself but if you're going to do it, take advice from people who have done it before.

Note:Pec-Pad's are not recommended for cleaning the CCD. It is not the same material used in the Sensor Swabs. PSI does not approve or warranty the CCD or any camera part from any damage caused by using non approved products.

I use a blower for surface crap and Eclipse 2 and sensor swabs for more stubborn gunge with no problems on my 5D - as long as the swabs are clean, you can't scratch the sensor as the swab handles bend if you inadvertently apply too much pressure.

It really is no big deal.

I use Eclipse and a SensorWand with PecPads ... works well.

Photographic solutions recommend not to use the pec pads on sensors.
Don't know if it's for marketing or if there's a real reason.

Orio,
I clean the sensor on my 20D with the Copper Hill products. Basicly a light blowing with the air bulb, then use the Copper Hill brush charged with caned air. about 10 second burst on brush then wipe sensor. If really dirty, roll your own swab from Copper Hill.
Easy, you will sweat bullets at first then you get over it. People at Canon can't do any better.
