Don't judge these. It was mid-day blazing sun and I wanted to try my lense that just came. All quick and dirty shots.
I think all at f/5.6
A very small part of my lawn. I mow about 5-6 acres every week.
Normally I would have got down on Maxwell's level. The first shot I took. If I had sharpened this at all, it would have seemed over sharpened.

Thanks everyone. I never expected the quality of pictures that the ML 50/1.7 and this 28/2.8 give. Especially if you consider that I gave less than $20.00 for the 50mm and less than $30.00 for the 28mm.

I agree with the first part, but I just don't have the eye you have for landscapes or the eye Orio has for the city/town stuff. That is not ment to discount the other fine photographers on this forum that are so much better than me. I just don't have time to list them all. _________________ Ron |

You are going to enjoy this lens and you are quite correct about how it provides a great complement to the 50/1.7. I got those two with a 135/2.8 that is also pretty good. Yashica lenses are fabulous value.

I agree Poilu, but this was the first shot out of my new lense so I showed it. I snapped a shot of Max then went out a took a few snaps of anything I saw to try.
This was the fourth picture I took. The first two of this shot were over exposed. The shots are nothing, but I'm looking at the colors. I'm very happy. I shouldn't have used the flash but I was playing with my new toy/tool. I could have made it better in CS3 but what is the sense for a play shot.

I am using a gadget infinity focus confirmation adapter. It works fine on the 40D but locks up on the mirror of the EOS 3. I'm going to order another from an outfit in Hong Kong and see if it will work on the EOS 3. _________________ Ron |

Try "big is" or "Happypage HK" . Happy page will code the adapter with exif data for your particular lens. This is not important to some folks but great for others. I think it is best to have the emulator chip set to f2.8 max aperture regardless of the lens. Most generic chips are set to 1.8 for C/Y adapters. With the setting at 2.8 you will not need to set a minus exposure comp as often. I don't know why maybe someone else has a thought in this regard. BTW my advise is to avoid Roxsen if you can. The prices are good but they don't give a crap if you have a problem. Congrats on the ML28 you will love it as we all do _________________ Moderator |

Carsten, did you sell it because you like the Kiron 2/28 better? I have two other 28's, the S-M-C Tak 3.5/28 and Kiron made Viv 2.5/28 which I noticed you also have. Any comparative thoughts on those lens.
I don't use this FL that often, but I do have high hopes on the Yashica ML 28mm. Why? Because almost everyone on this forum keeps posting good samples and good words.
@ Schnauzer and F16SUNSHINE
Thanks for the adapter advise. I will look at 'Happypage HK' and 'big is' offerings. |
