When I mount the adapter to my camera it starts focusing all the way out and then in again, but after that I can only use it as a manual focus lens. The focus setting on my camera is fade out.

I have tried it with an A7III and an A6000 camera, and it has worked with both of them before, but when I tried to use it today, my cameras detect it as a manual lens.

What may be wrong? Are there any sites on the web which can help me troubleshooting this issue?

If the motor is capable of driving focus movement when first mounted the motor must still work. I suspect dirty contacts is your issue - mine had issues with this when I first received it making it highly intermittent. A little rubbing of the contacts with a pencil eraser improved matters, and subsequent work with a glass fibre contact pen has sorted it for me.

My problem is a bit different. I used it on Sony A7rii. When I switch on, the Techart intends to move but is instantly blocked so does not focus all the way and seems to disconnect

I did follow your advice and sent a message to Techart through contact us on their website. (https://techartpro.com/contact-us/)

I did propose to send them the faulty Techart (provided proof of my purchase) and expected them to either repair or replace it.

1st answer was
"pls contact the respective seller. We only cover warranty for all purchase made in our own webstore"

I replied
As I said I contacted seller who first promised to send me a new one then ignored me when I mentioned I had not received anything
This is a technical fault. I propose to send you the deficient Techart adapter directly at an address you will supply me with so that you either repair it or send a new one. I cannot see why you would decline my request and what the seller could do better,.
I ask you to reconsider your answer before posting about your answer on various photo forums.

2nd answer (from Techart (Sales) <sales>) was:
"We are a distributor of Techart adapters and this seller is not our authorised dealer. That’s the reason why we will NOT provide any warranty of his adapters. I hope you understand"

This is so unacceptable and customer hostile. How is someone supposed to check that a seller is an authorised seller? It is not a fake product it is really a Techart (they would anyway detect this very easily on receipt anyway if they accepted that I send it back ...) and a fake would probably cost a fortune to make...

Any suggestion on how to further complain? Should I write to the Chinese embassy so they ensure their companies act diligently and honestly?

I'm not sure about the laws in EU, but where I from you have a sale document issued by a specific dealer, and this dealer is obliged to honor warranty.
Yes, some great vendors do indeed fix their stuff, no questions asked (about the product origin).
But that is their good will gesture, they are not obliged to do so.

I don't know the laws...
I just expect a reputable manufacturer to be keen to repair a product under guarantee...and I did not of course ask for them to pay for the freight. The dealer would just have been an intermediate without adding value anyway and more costly (freight costs to vendor to manufacturer...).
In my mind, the law is only there to enforce what people and companies are supposed to do
I hope there will be another manufacturer offering a similar product ...

Anecdotal opposite situation a dealer made me go to Sony for sd card warranty.

I agree manufacturer should honor warranty but stupid law lets manufacturer set market price, no unauthorized dealer can undercut authorized dealer. Exclusive distribution agreement... Law stupidly leads to situation for consumer you complain about.

My understanding is: distributors are registered businesses inside the buyers country and thus can be a subject to said country laws.
One can't possibly sue an entity (manufacturer) who is residing outside of buyer's country and said country legal jurisdiction.

So you either press your original dealer, or try to get to someone in actual manufacturing and ask nicely.
Or post on social media in attempt to apply pressure.

Perhaps it's worth to try to find their twitter/facebook/whatever page and articulate your experience with their product?

P.S. I have no idea how Chinese embassy could possibly be related to any of these, but if you go through with contacting it, I'd appreciate an update on how that goes.

Given the cost of the lens, nobody would consider legal action. The only solution is pressure through posting on fora (forums) to explain the situation... I suppose.
This is all the more absurd that I was very keen on their product while it worked (abour 6 weeks...). I suppose it is the new world we live in...

You can try pressure the seller on the net, where you find he's more online , but I doubt of any other ways. Thinking as last chance to have a specialist open it,it might be some electronic issues ,probably not big deal (I never heard somebody ever done such a thing, but I'm sure there are capable persons out there ,depends of the money of course, if would be to expensive just open it yourself ,it won't explode )
