Click here to see on Ebay

Maybe these are common but I've never seen one before. Item location is Vologda. I wonder if it's a coincidence.

Definately not common, and made in Vologda Very Happy or at least mine is, but its a Mir-47M which if anything is less common. Can still be bought new from RuGift for about the same price. Very Happy But much slower delivery no doubt!

Poolhall,
what are your experiences about that lens? Any full size photos we can examine?

There are some samples I posted If you do a site search for 'Mir 47 Test', my opinon is much the same it has super colour rendition, very saturated, and is a good close up lens. There appears to be little distortion on my Pentax K100/Samsung GX10, at 1.5 crop. It gets pretty sharp from f8 but less so before that. I like it a lot but it is a big and heavy lens, but its fast as well for the size and a good wide angle, be very good on a film camera but I haven't tried it yet. The only downside for me is that mine is an'M' version ie m42 and its automatic only so I have had to disable the push pin to make it work as a pre set on my Pentax with an m42 adapter, however I got at the time on Ebay for about half the price of a K mount version so I can live with it
Very Happy I would recommend it if you can get one at a good price there are not many about, but then a Mir-20 may be as good if a little slower, but never used one so i cant help with that Very Happy
