Anyone bumped into this: Mir 1B goes too deep to some m42 mounts. It turns almost 1/3 too much because of the bevel in the mount that I think is supposed to help attaching the lenses .. ? _________________ MF: Kodak DCS SLR/c; Samsung NX10; OM-10; Canon T50

I read somewhere that the Mir 1v is too long for some of the Canon Dslrs, and the mirror hits the back of the lens but mine have been ok on Pentax/Samsung mounts, and on my m42 cameras (several various Zenits and a Yashica), sorry I cant help more. |

Basically my problem is the mount part of the Mir has just too small diameter and there is a bevel there too. It goes right inside the mount. The bevel in the mount is about 0,5 mm deep and 1 mm wide. Tried to pad it with some wire but it is not a very usable solution. _________________ MF: Kodak DCS SLR/c; Samsung NX10; OM-10; Canon T50

I had a similar problem when using the Mir with a contax/yashica adapter, it would usually be turned like 30 degrees too much, and the mirror would sometimes be blocked by the ring protecting the back lens. I trimmed that ring a bit (see the ----\ instead of -----| shape):
This lens is on its way to Dave (farside) in Ireland right now, by the way. |

The first isn't good? The second bad too? Not matter. the third or the fourth will be OK.
By few cents you will fit your lens in the right way.
Again, good luck.

I ordered 1mm, 1.5mm and 2mm O-ring and I found the 1.5mm works best as the Helios goes too deep into the adapter. O-ring is elastic so it is hard to say which one works best without trial. _________________ https://lensfever.com/
