Very nice.
The donut ring is a thinner than Tamron 55BB. Is it easy to focus near infinity? Focus throw?

Many thanks guys! Matter of your focusing aid only, lens have long focusing route and very precise.

If you have good focusing aid like focus peaking+ LCD viewer with magnification very easy.

I saw you misfocus in several shots Laughing
The Tamron 55BB is extremely difficult to focus near infinity due to shake, and very little focus throw at the end.
Just curious about this Rokkor.

Only Zoo shoots made with LCD finder others with NEX focus peaking only on rare LCD, this is explain miss focus.

Much better than other mirrors I've seen. Love the bokeh in last shot of series.

What many photographers don't know is that there are very huge differences in quality of mirror lenses with the same specifictions. A The difference of 50€+ 500/8 and a 500€+ 500/8 huge!
In cause of that they are generally heavily generally underrated in my opininion.

One of these good mirror lenses is also the Sony AF/Minolta AF/latest manual Minolta MD 500/8 (all optically identical as far as I heard but later ones also have AF)

Or the Zeiss Mirotara are also known to be very good for example.

Yes , mirror lenses just like others difference is huge between them. My princess is Carl Zeiss Jena 500mm f4.5 , sadly chance to get it minimal really.

Any landscape shots/opinions to share? Seems like most pictures with this lens are relatively close distance.
