It cost me 50 € and an espresso, and I gain an invitation for studio fashion shoots because the vendor is a pro photographer 
About the lathe, it's a cheap'n'plastic yet versatile model, built like a LEGO machine tool, it can lathe some soft metal and mill, drill, grind, ... the Unimat 1 classic : http://youtube.com/watch?v=lA-pvZiA5vg
