This lens was in storage for decades and appears to be in unused/as new condition. Aperture is crisp and focus is smooth and turns to infinity mark. Definitely not an adapter problem.
Any ideas?

What do you mean by no infinity? It does not reach it? Goes past? What kind of camera? What kind of adaptor?

It doesn't (didn't) reach infinity(though the focus ring reached the infinity mark). I removed the name ring and found that my changeable hex head screwdriver wouldn't fit in the narrow crack to reach the focus ring screws. I replaced the name ring and when I put it on the camera...it worked. I had tried it a few times on a NEX and an XD11 with the same problem. Very strange.
