the question is: would you buy the new FE 50/1.8 having already the Minolta AF50/1.4RS with the LA-EA4 adapter?

I'm tempted, beffer AF areas for sure, what else?

All depends on your preferences, but after looking this review and samples, I'm not sure it's a good idea:
