By coincidence, I have been shooting with this lens as a normal lens, just to see what it's capable of.
This is a Pre-"K" and Pre-A/I lens, and only has the blue/purple single coating.
At f5.6 here and ISO 200. Not quite to the hard infinity stop.
D-810 at 36 m/p and fine jpegs. Un-touched except for re-size.
This has a very slight propensity to barrel distort towards the edges.
As above, except at f8.
As above, except wide open. Daylight was fading fast here, and I was already down to 1/30 sec.
Although far from perfect, it is still entirely usable.
The sky gets a little weird at times for flare and color wide open, but such is to be expected out of a lens this old.
I am impressed with this old lens by quite a bit.

I like this lens more than the Ai(s) 55/2.8.
Very sharp and cheap as well. |

You are the third person to make this statement over the past few months...
And here I thought I wanted the A/I 2.8 version
Which all helps to get me to relax with my stable of oldster lenses...
But~ I still watch for the Vivitar version.
