I had read about the Mamiya SX 55/1,4 that

1- It´s multicoated.

2- Comparing it with the planar 50/1,4, in Fredmiranda forum, this was said:

https://www.fredmiranda.com/forum/topic/852907

"According to Frank Mechelhoff @taunusreiter.de you are getting with this lens a multicoated Contarex Planar (1959 design). This is the predecessor of that monster Planar which followed (1972 til today). The older design smokes the new one in bokeh but will not win the sharpness contest. However, at f/2 onwards and definitely f/2.8 onwards it'll not be shabby either. "

any opinion about that affirmations?

The design is similar but the glass is not. The bokeh and the color is not the same.

There is an old thread on this.
