My 28mm f2.8 lens is good, but my copy of the 35-70mm zoom was optically crap but very good engineering.....I gave it to a charity shop.

Your forgot the
1000mm f11 (very positive test)
28-200mm but that was (i presume) not manufactured by makinon

You inverted the 80/200 3.5 type 1 (2 touch 1972/1975) and the type 2 (one touch) (1975/1985)
Type 2 80/200 3.5 (one touch) did exist in 3 versions (80/200 // 80/200 phase II // 80/200 ultra phase II)

Could you please post some references for these two? I couldn't find any.

+ Following lenses which are makinon named but certainly not makina made (most looks like samyang made)

28-105 :

28-85 (not 28/80) ... See the one touch design

24-35 .. I do not know other oem 24/35 lens

40mm

PostPosted: Mon May 30, 2011 4:17 pm    Post subject: Reply with quote

The 400mm mirror should be F6.7.

There are another slower 200mm with F4.5 and 75-150mm zoom with F4.5.

There are some infos on the web for the 1000mm but I never see any photo of it. The 40mm may like a typo as the size and the marking is very similar to the 28mm.

I am too inclined to the idea there is a second manufacturer with cheaper Makinon zooms. Those can be easily distinguished by weaker construction.

I would think that someone bought the right of makinon name when makina bankrupted
ALL non makina made lenses are of newer design (ie : 28/105 , 28/135)
You can clearly makes the distinction when you see the focusing rings collars which were very specific with the makina made lenses

Later lenses have sigma or samyang look rubbers

FALSE MAKINON

Thanks so much for the fast reply and the manual!! i have a later version though: http://allphotolenses.com/lenses/item/c_3227.html

The first two lens groups are the same for sure. the 3rd one is probably too. but the last one is definitely not.

The combinations are narrow down and you should be able to figure it out with trial and error. Use a pencil to mark the edge of the element to distinguish which side you have tried.

Auto Makinon MC 35-105/3,5-4,5

Nice building, but optical rendering? IMHO they have not good fame about that.

Bump.

No, I'd never heard of that Makina until I saw your post. But I have a similar looking lens labelled as Promaster.

There are some pictures of the Makina here:
https://www.catawiki.com/l/20780261-makina-kk-auto-mc-135-mm-f2-5-p-k-para-pentax-k#&gid=1&pid=4
Scroll down a little to see the pictures.

My Promaster 135mm f/2.5 is M42 mount and has a normal minimum focus distance of 1.5m. It also has a supplemental helicoid which extends the front elements for closer focusing. In the photo, my lens is at minimum focus distance:

#1

However, according to the lens specs on the catawiki site, the Makina has some differences from my Promaster. Perhaps the Makina is a newer version?

I've also seen lenses which look similar to my Promaster labelled as Hanimex, Makinon, Porst and Sakar. The Porst has specifications which match my Promaster:
http://m42lens.com/m42-lens-database/1480-porst-macro-tele-mc-auto-e-135mm-f-2-5-22
