Didn't know there was M52 - bodies and lenses.

Sound like a huge headache to someone buying russian stuff from e-bay. _________________ AF: Canon, Tokina

52 means 52mm for the filter's thread (not the lens/camera's mount).
EDIT: This TTL Zenit has M42 mount and that Helios 44M-6 is one of the latest ones. _________________ Canonet QL17 III

That is what happen when you work in the garden without a hat!
Often it is just ø52 .. okay, there is a history:
A - For a while ago someone tried to sell a Planar or something with "a thread that is about 50 mm".
B - When I stumbled across some T-mount lenses I learned that M42 is actually M42x1 and T2 is M42x0,75.
-----------------------
C - So my overheated brain deduced that russians have developed the thread mount for larger lens diameter .. _________________ AF: Canon, Tokina
