So a few test shots at lunch time with the Pentacon 30mm, f/3.5; presumably a Lydith in all but name..
First up, it is a diminutively adorable little piece of glass with an incredible field of view; though there is a tendency to barrel on a full frame.
Shot on a full-frame, at 50 ISO where possible.
First two shots are unprocessed other than exposure push as needed.
So first up a shot really demonstrating the len's limitations when wide open;
Centre sharpness is amazing though
Another unprocessed full-frame shot
Impressive minimum focal distance;
For the price of it, I'm more than impressed; especially so when using it on a 1x1 crop format. |

The size of it though! You could fit it in your pocket and not notice it.. (well nearly..)
That's what I quite like about these lenses; you can fit 3-4 in the same space a modern lens would take!
I definitely think it's more of a close-up / portrait lens if shooting full frame as the barrelling is quite noticeable when shooting at a distance. I'll need to check the size of it against the Computar 28mm I have, as I swear that doesn't barrel anywhere near as much as the 30... o.0 |
