Well I heasrd that in some cultures, the numbers and especially the sequence of such numbers means a lot, "8" for instance stands for good luck.

So was I lucky here....? And what is that about serial numbers??

and what does that one stands for??

some culture where 8 is lucky, 4 is not so lucky Smile

numerology adds digits to obtain single digit "luck" indicator.

some consider 7 very very lucky

1 April i believe 0 *ought* to be lucky Smile

no kidding, those lenses are fantastic!

I got a guitar with a serial number like that: 000006. A prototype, one of 15 made.

My lens serial numbers are all over the place.

Best,

Michael

Whow!
These are extremely rare lenses!
You will never find another copy with same serial... Laughing
consider them your lucky numbers.

In those days i still could afford myself a car (before my lens addiction) i was always waiting for the nice numbers. eg: 100000, 111111km or 123456km. a satisfaction which only lasts for seconds..

My lucky numbers are found on the not so 'lucky' lenses:
00003 on a canon tv-lens
750 on an Old Delft 58mm

Humans are hardwired to find patterns to the extent that we often find patterns when there are none. Because those patterns matter to people, they matter to market value. So yes....lucky numbers indeed.

I kinda agree, as long as it isn't 100000 or 999999 ( for example ) i think people just see patterns ^^.

Still I'm not going to exclude it. ( because it would imply i know, and that's just not the case )

Point... 3rd lens i grabbed Wink

Two dice throw probability gives 7 an edge, followed by 6 and 8:

Another one: Pentacon (Meyer) 135/2.8 preset with yellow numbers. Interesting to note, that this serial is also shown in the review about this lens on pentaxforums.
