The lens used is Kern Switar 1.8/50, mono-coating and Alpa mount. Mine is
in bad shape, hardly any coating left on the front element, but using adapter
I can use on M-mount camera. Film is Fuji Reala. This lens is the mother of
famous Kern Macro-Swaitar 1.8/50 and later 1.9/50, relatively rare lens
came to my possession when I won Alpa 7 at eBay, which is SLR and has a range
finder strangely enough.

The lens look like this (the lens makes far better 3-D images than Macro-Switar 1.9/50 thou)

We always visit our old hairstylist friend at his shop when we go to japan

Our hotel was beside amusement park, also beside ball game stadium (very close to my birth place, used to go ball-game when I was young)

Visit old Tokugawa's garden in downtown Tokyo with a volunteer guide

This garden has two ponds, and beside Tokyo bay

Another pond with High rises in back drop

Downtown building inside

Portrait in haze (partially due to lens' lost coating, and older design?) but I like this effect

When used the light at the back, it produces fine image at Ginza (famous shopping district)

The end of that's day

I do not recall why I brought this lens to Tokyo and shot with this, but that was that.

This park was also a herb garden for Tokugawa Shogun era for Shogun in olden time too,
my grandma was born here and all her ancestors who were samurai pharmacists in generations.

I am not an artist like some one here, just record the event and my environment with my gears (far too many).
Just a fun boy in photographic land. Laughing Laughing

Another fine set and like the Portrait in Haze as my fave. Great results!

the lens does well and the result of the reala negative film is surprisingly good also.

as for recording events there is nothing wrong with that: It is the essence of photography, it is precisely what makes it different from the other arts, what the other arts can not do. So it is the strong point of photography, not the weak point.

Thank you guys.

Somehow these are not good shots, just showing Switar 1.8/50's
drawing but the lens was in such a bad condition it is unjust for Kern.

This lens and the usage of film creates some nice retro look, but not too retro, if you know what I mean...
