Lens with most aperture blades?

I just received my first TAIR-11A. I think it beats all lenses i've seen with it's 20 aperture blades forming "perfect" circle. Anyway this made me wonder which lens beats it? But possibly 35mm SLR lens. Bokeh monster and Tair 3.5/300mm comes close. Please add yours.

Many Takumars have 18 blades, that's enough to have a nice round aperture at any aperture Very Happy

Please post a model so we can make a top list. Found another for the first place: Novoflex 5.6/400mm with 24 blades.

My Century Tele-Athenar 1000/5.6 has 20 blades, though I am unsure how much of a 35mm lens you consider it... it's more like a telescope Laughing

I also used to have a Tair-11 which had an awful lot of blades.
My Primotar also sports a high number and some other older lenses...

Well, my Meyer Optik 4/300 also has 20 blades. Can't quite match the Novoflex Smile

All this mechanical fuss just to make a round hole??

Blades are overrated. Waterhouse stops for the win! Mr. Green

Thank you No-X. We might add lens format. Ad least where the lens is not 35mm or 6x6. I guess soon enlarger lens will start popping.

Age and preset/automated are relevant information too. Counting through my large format lenses, 20-24 blades seem to have been the pretty non-exciting standard there until they added support for various systems for aperture automation and behind-the-camera control in the sixties. Similar things happened in 35mm - my preset lenses tend to have roughly twice the blades of automatic ones of similar focal length.

Move the Xenar to non-focusing, too - that is a large format barrel type.
