Looking to buy early Nikkor primes that have been AI'd. I don't mind some barrel wear, but only interested in fungus free, un-oiled up blades and unscratched glass.

My Wishlist for my EOS, M42 & PK bodies :
- Helios-40-2 (black version)
- Jupiter-9 (black version)
- any 50mm 1.2 (Zuiko, ...)
- any non tele 65mm++ register lens for tilt/shift experiments (Vega, ...)
=> in any working shape, even if in need for some care : I'm not a collector, just using them for photo purposes
I'm on a budget, I can not afford some "Buy now" prices for those gems... _________________ Switching from M42 to Minolta MD & Contax/Yashica |

It's just a Wishlist
A Jupiter-9 is not that high, Click here to see on Ebay or Click here to see on Ebay ($US is low versus €EUR) but I don't know if it's worth that price... _________________ Switching from M42 to Minolta MD & Contax/Yashica |

A Jupiter-9 in very good condition is worth $100, IMHO.
Thank God, you don't have to pay that, but it is worth it.
Compared to the Helios-40-2, which is at least twice as expensive (often more), the Jupiter-9 is a bargain.
The 40-2 is so expensive, because every really fast lens goes for exaggerated prices at the moment.
I mean, you can get a J9 for €60,- but you have to pay €200,- for a 40-2?
Come on, where is the sense in that? _________________ There are two kinds of people in the world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don’t.

BTW, I'd like to update my wish list:
- a Leica lens (preferably 90mm, but 50, 35 or 28, even 135mm would be OK as well).
- a Nikkor 1.8/85 (but that will be as expensive as a Leica, I guess. I still can hit myself, because at the last camera show in Solms, one seller offered me such a lens in excellent condition for € 160,- and I guess he would have talked about the price, but I rejected.)
- a lens between 17 and 20mm (MIR, Tokina, Tamron, CZJ - whatever there is for an affordable price).
- a fast (f1.5) 50mm lens for my M39-rangefinder FED-3b. (Sometimes these lenses go for about € 50,- in Russia, that's not too bad, but it's also not a high priority case.)
And, after Orio's experiences with his new Rollei Planar, I am really interested in this lens. There is a local shop close by that sells this lens at the moment - nobody seems to be interested, because this lens has been on the offer for half a year or something. It is in great condition and works perfectly, nobody wants to have Rollei-mount lenses, I guess. I hope I get the chance to go there soon. _________________ There are two kinds of people in the world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don’t.

Don't misunderstand me, the Helios-40-2 surely is a great lens and I would love to have one - but not for this price. _________________ There are two kinds of people in the world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don’t.

Based on my experience, the best bang for the bucks is the Elmarit-R 135 second version. You can find it for around 200 Euros, which makes it the cheaper of all second version Leicas in the range you mentioned, and it really kicks the asses of little birds at a distance.

I would not hesitate. I have two Planars 1.4/50 and two Planars 1.7/50, total four of them, and the Singhapur Rollei performs just as well as any of them. You just can not tell one from the other. Believe me. _________________ _

Orio, I do not plan to hesitate. It's just that I couldn't go to work for two days (sore throat and stuff), thus I could no go into the city and buy this lens. Would have looked awkward.
Next week, I think I most probably will go. _________________ There are two kinds of people in the world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don’t.

There is a local shop close by that sells this lens at the moment - nobody seems to be interested, because this lens has been on the offer for half a year or something. It is in great condition and works perfectly, nobody wants to have Rollei-mount lenses, I guess. I hope I get the chance to go there soon. |
OK, take this from the list. I have bought the Planar.

- a Nikkor 1.8/85 (but that will be as expensive as a Leica, I guess. I still can hit myself, because at the last camera show in Solms, one seller offered me such a lens in excellent condition for € 160,- and I guess he would have talked about the price, but I rejected.)

And I hope that I can also cross out the Nikkor 1.8/85 on the list, since I have found for a price I would never get a Leica lens for. I now hope that it arrives safely! _________________ There are two kinds of people in the world: those who divide the world into two kinds of people, and those who don’t.
