Lens thats just named Jena 50mm f/2.8

Just got my self a new camera and lens.

The lens is a Jena 50mm f/2.8 nothing more.
What brand?
The obvious guess would be carl zeiss but I would also guess thay would not have skip to put that on there own lenses.
Someone might know anything about these lenses?

I got this lens with a Edixa Flex CDS

It's a Carl Zeiss Jena Tessar 50/2.8. There was a period where Carl Zeiss (of the west) and Carl Zeiss Jena (of the east) were arguing over naming rights, and as such some lenses were just branded "Jena" or "Aus Jena". Same thing though!

Going to be interesting to se the image quality of this one.
Have found that not all Zeiss lenses are as awesome that most expect.

From what I hear, the Tessar 50/2.8 is not bad, but not great either.

Looks very much like the Carl Zeiss Jena DDR Tessar 50mm f/2.8 which I have tested on my blog.

Yep, this was the style of the time either before or after the Star Wars versions Smile

I have a Flektogon 35/2.8 in this style too.

Tessars are slow, and OOF areas can be busy and distracting.

But it should be sharp with good colors.
