Thank you Klaus for the link.

The Camera Eccentric website used to be a gold mine for old lenses manuals. Here's the link:
http://www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info.html

Unfortunately, this website has been down for some time. The scans of the manual pages don't seem to be accessible through WebArchive.org either:
http://web.archive.org/web/20071224195801/www.cameraeccentric.com/html/info.html

Sylvain Halgand's website also has quite a lot of old manuals and catalogs on line (not every one of them being in French Wink ). First, the main page for the manuals:
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/general/html/liste_notices.php

Then the link to the Photo-Plait catalogs from 1913 to 1959 (Photo-Plait was one of the biggest distributors of photographic equipment in France until WWII):
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/photo-plait/html/toutes_annees.php

And here's the link to the Photo-Hall catalogs from 1899 to 1955 (Photo-Hall was the main competitor to Photo-Plait):
http://www.collection-appareils.fr/photo-hall/html/liste.php

Cheers!

Abbazz

The Lenses of Farside

-

Our government has kept us in a perpetual state of fear - kept us in a continuous stampede of pseudo patriotic fervor - with the cries of grave national emergency. always there has been some terrible evil to gobble us up if we did not blindly rally behind it by furnishing the exorbitant funds demanded. Yet, in retrospect, these disasters seem never to have happened, seem never to have been quite real. - General Douglas McArthur

The whole aim of practical politics is to keep the populace alarmed (and hence, clamorous to be led to safety) by menacing it with an endless series of hobgoblins, most of them imaginary. - H.L.Mencken

The people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked, and denounce the peacemakers for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same in any country.
Herman Goering at the Nuremberg Trial
