Hi,

I really need a better lens hoods for my Sigma 24/2.8 (52mm thread ~36mm lens with K10d) and my Jupiter-9 (49mm thread). Anybody got an idea where to find suitable preferably metal hoods for the duo?

Before spending money on something that may not do the job have a look at some of your stuff in the kitchen. Plastic containers can be cut to length giving a coat of matt black etc.
Why do you want a metal hood?
Something else in the bag to scratch a piece of equipment with!
Also metal hoods have a habit of getting bent out of shape and then they don't fit anymore. IMO useless things that last a week or so.

Plastic container DIY model would be great also, just haven't found any container which would be easy to modify and attach to the lens.

Well, the bending/scratching part is true. It doesn't have to be metal.

After having had a precious lens' filter ring damaged by a fall, I can tell you: metal hoods do have a usefulness. Had my lens fallen on a metal hood instead, I could trash the hood and have a perfectly healthy lens now.

In the jupiter-9 case, I use the metal hood of the fujinon 85/4 soft, and work fine, not vigneting. Before this I used the hood for the Pentax 85 mm. with a reductor to 49 mm. (it was of hard plastic, but very good).
