Leica R3 film advance cap

Believe it or not I couldn't find this and I didn't want to assume it was the same as the Minolta XE-7.

The film advance cap, does it remove counter-clock wise or clock wise. the reason for asking is that it seems to want to go counter-clock wise but I don't want to force it as it does not seem to be unthreading.
