Anyone have any experience with this transparency scanner? Especially using VueScan software on recent-model Macs?

I use it from time to time.

Vuescan is very flexible and handles the scanner well. I use W7 with a four core Intel i7+ 16G Ram. Vuescan also works fine with a small portable but then CPU- and memoryintensive Photoshop tasks such as stitching, HDR etc. will be limited to smaller images.

I find that dense Kodachromes and some B&W at times are tricky to scan without setting up several scan-passes. Recent negative colour and XP2 is easy. Good 1:1 optics plus bellows like the Novoflex or Olympus, enable direct snaps which is much quicker, but without the infrared dust&scratch-removal from the film surface.
