can you post a picture of it? which mount is it?

i have a "weltblick 2.5/24" which is also seen as "kenlock 2.5/24".

i performs quiet good. it not reaches my 3.5/24 takumar but it's nice for available light wide angle situations.

Hi. Its rare lens because the brand was not successfull in europe (in the USA it was better but not as good as they want it). Komura sold their Komuranon series from the 1970s up to 1983...i think....after 1983 I didnt see the Komura products in germany.

komura was well known as optical manufacturer for other bigger lens manfacturer. The lens should deliver the same good results like the Kiron lenses (or Vivitar OEMs) and the good versions of Cosina lenses.

cheers

Ayk

Not a common lens even in the US, these were sold only in small numbers, particularly the primes.

Thats a Canon FD mount. Komura had several interchangable mount systems, your lens may (possibly) have one of them, so it may be possible to find another Komuranon with a different mount and change it.

Komuras were quality products with an excellent finish. Its a typical Komura touch to have a dedicated square lens hood.

Well...you can jump on the Zeiss and Leica hype. But I owned Canon L Series lenses in FD mount and later EOS mount. These lenses were unbelievable sharp. The Canon EF 50mm F1.4 is sharper than the new Zeiss ZF 50mm lens and the new Lecia lenses from 1989 on...are good...the old ones...were not much better than Zeiss or Nikon.

I have here some Konica Hexanon lenses.....the 50mm F1.7 was called one of the sharpest 50mm lenses in F1.7 and the Hexanon lenses in general were highly regarded.

Asahi Pentax SMC lenses are very good.

So.....Komura, Kiron and Hoya produced some very good 3rd Party OEM lenses. Sometimes even better than Tokina and Tamron MF products.

cheers
Ayk
