Now I got the helicoid about in the right place, fine tuning should be done.

There are 4 screws under the rangefinder window, of which the two outer ones should be for fine tuning. But how do they work? I couldn't get them moving at all?

The screws should be lacquer locked. Are you sure it is needed? The Tooke book does not recommend adjusting the cam unless it has previously been misaligned (as proved by broken screw locks) or you mix parts from different cameras. Zeiss manuals consider the cam setting a one-time manufacturing adjustment - the setting capability is not needed to adjust the focusing mechanism, but only to compensate for production tolerances of the cam.
