Thanks! The camera is heavy and feels good and the Summicron also makes it look as good as it feels (and no PP )
The case smells good ot past times and takes me back to the years of my youth when my mother's and father's cameras smelled the same. Talk about "Proust action".
And yes Vanity Fair is OK also _________________ Orio, Administrator

I managed to load a film by cutting the leader, but it's soemthing I would like not to have to do on standard basis, as it makes the loading very awkward: the film once cut is very fragile and the chance it breaks with winding is high. Also cutting by hand is not easy to keep the proportion so that the film loads evenly and not with a bend.
Now to find an original Kiev-4 takeup spool, that won't be easy... _________________ Orio, Administrator

I have shot some 10 frames today, no spectacular subject, just to test the shutter. Which has the same "professional" sound that my Zeiss Super Ikonta has.
The camera feels great, it feels every inch as heavy metal and luxury as a real Contax.
The viewfinder is bright enough to focus well also at the twilight.
The only problem I have is that the selenium meter has expired, so I need to take a light meter with me. I am searching for a very small one. The Gossen Multi Pro I have is too big to walk around. I need one that fits in my jacket's pocket. _________________ Orio, Administrator

If I can suggest a really nice small meter. Try and find a Sekonic "auto leader model L 188. It's very small and accurate also super lightweight. Included is a battery voltage test so you know when the battery is low. That might not sound important but low battery means different meter reading |

Alea iacta est !!
I have brought my first Kiev roll to the photographer shop for development.
A Agfa B&W 100 ISO, hopefully one of the last I will give to the lab for developing.
In August, I plan to start with my own developing of B&W!
I am very anxious to see the results from the old cam! _________________ Orio, Administrator
