I´m envious.

Normally I don´t know such feelings, but in this case I am. You live in such a wonderful area where others can only spend few days a year for vacation.

Beautiful shots/panos as usual. Perfect. Thanks for sharing.

Does anyone know why the roof has stones on top of it, I guess it has something to do with snow in winter?

actually I never thought about it and don't have an answer. What I think is that it has nothing to do with snow. Because there are Alms where the houses do not have this stones on top Alms where they do.
At this place every single cottage had the stones on the roof. I think it has to do with wind.
Because especially in this mountain there was much damage in the past years through wind.
The plates of the roofs are made from wood, they are very light though. The stones which could hold them together (because they are put on long wooden laths) in storm-situations.

That's my theory ... I will ask next time the Alm-owners.
