hello and welcome
in the very first post of a new member photos are not shown , anti-spam measure

first tip: be patient with manual lenses and take time to know each new lens

as for photos , i like the hands (could be a bit less dark), others seem a bit unsharp, but that will get better with the usage of lenses, you'll get a routine of hitting the focus spot on

which camera are you using?

Hi Lena

I like them all, nice work. First one of stream is my fave.

Helios-44 and Sonnar 135 are two great ones to begin with.

I'm afraid you're right Smile

One more issue comes to my mind. I wear glasses normally and I shoot pictures in glasses. Is it better this way or maybe it's a good idea to use the diopter adjustment in the camera? With AF lenses it was not an issue, however now I sometimes have the impression that what I see is not what I get in the picture as far as sharpness is concerned...

Yeah just keep getting outside with them, you'll enjoy yourself.

These first samples must have been took at full aperture, probably with both lenses. Unfortunately I do not know the Sonnar well (never used it) but I would say that squirrel pic could have gotten alot sharper, probably even at f/3.5.

Pay attention to exposure, try to use +1 +2 / -1 -2 compensation, the flowers have blown out highlights, time of the day didn't help for sure. Try going there later or earlier in the day with less direct light, the yellows should be much better by then.

Thanks for all the hints.

The squirell was shot with f3.5, it was a bit dark under the trees. The lake was at f16, long exposure time and tripod.
Helios was wide open since it was before the adjustment to it was made, now it works and I can adjust aperture, I will keep trying Smile
