Imagine how much this lens could have been sold if it was f2.8 instead f4...

Nice shots and lens. You were fortunate to catch the bird. Were you out shooting when it appeared or did you see it and run outside with your camera? |

Uddhava,
It's a tree in my backyard, actually this tree:
6x7_2014-6032+34 by Renato__ Salles, on Flickr
It happens to have 8 hummingbirds around the tree, fighting to dominate the area, there is also other types of birds, but they just chase each other, not the biggers.
In this tree I had digged some holes around and filled with biologic fertilizer some months ago, and the amount of flowers which came this season is really impressive. The hummingbirds are all the day around it, but at the end of the day and early in the morning are the hours where you can literally choose which one you want to photograph. They let you come gently close as 2.5 meters toward them without being disturbed, close then this makes them just go away,
I've made 20-25 shots with these birds, but the best is this first one,
Cheers,
Renato |
