Not bad, I didn't push up intentionally the contrast, just applied "auto tone" in LR3 which did a little bump.
Much better than expected.
Regarding flare, I didn't try any backligth shot yet, but as you said, probably there will be some flare due to the coating. But I have to do more tests yet.
The NEX seems to match very well with the old optics...
