I just got this Accura Supertel 135mm Preset and it is in beautiful shape, except the real element. I don't know if it is dirt or fungus
and is it easy to take apart to clean the rear element.
Thanks in advance

Yes it should be very easy to clean. _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Thanks Luis as usual, you are great.
How do I get to that rear element and what do I use to clean it. I can remove the Tmount easy but from there ?
Here is a pic I just took, looks OK to me. Most of the pics I took all looked soft even a f8.
Thanks again
Regards
Gavin

Yes, Argentina, North of Canada and Alaska seems a bit soft to my eyes.
I decided to contribute also with a very important information (where I actually am) and a small reminiscence of my early days as a software developer:

IIRC, the rear element can be removed with a lens spanner using slots in a retaining ring.
We may not be discussing the same version of this lens though.
Alternately, have a look whether the rear cell entirely can be unscrewed.
Dirt, haze and fungus usually is in these places -
- On the back side of the rear element.
- On the surface facing the aperture blades _________________ I like Pentax DSLR's, Exaktas, M42 bodies of all kinds, strange and cheap Japanese lenses, and am dabbling in medium format/Speed Graphic work. |

Thank you Luis, I removed the T/Mount and cleaned the element on the outside and that got rid of 99% of the dirt, lucky for me.
I thank you for your replies as each time I learn something.
