It is half the price of Tri-X, but is it half as good?
Any other less costly films out there as I kick into deveoping my own?
Tri-X, Neopan and Ilford are expensive guinea pigs ...

Legacy Pro = Fuji Neopan 400, an excellent film

Arista Edu Ultra = Fomapan, the 400 is old fashioned, the 100 is excellent

Arista Premium = Kodak, the 400 is Tri-x

Fomapan, Shanghai GP3, Lucky.
They're actually not bad, but half the price of the bigger makes.

Thanks, guys. I picked up 4 24-exposure rolls of Kentmere 400 BW today. It is $2 per roll less expensive than Tri-X ...

Any reason you went with the Kentmere over the Legacy Pro?

I like Legacy Pro 400, haven't tried either the Arista Premium or Legacy Pro 100, but will in future:

I tried the Kentmere because it is available locally. I have shot up all four rolls now. The results of the last roll are in the BW gallery.
I have since acquired 12 rolls of the Arista Premium 400 via Freestyle ...

This is a very beautiful photo, Bill.
Love the expression of the girl and the lighting.
Gorgeous B&W tones.
