As you can see it says M42, but when I received the lens it was more like a M38, very small with large threads compared to the M42 with smaller screw thread.
Is there two types of M42 mounts that I'm not aware of? Did I get shafted? |

It might be that it has an M39 SLR mount (for the old Zenit SLRs).
Then you can use it with an additional Adapter-Ring (M39-M42).
Just ask the seller and tell him that his text was wrong. Perhaps he will send you the M39-M42 ring. Happened to me once... _________________ Personal forum activity on pause every now and again (due to job obligations)!

This one is smaller than my M42 to EOS adapters
So I do need to pickup a 39 to 42 :/
Guess I will search for one, because it is such an interesting little lens. Soooo small! |

I have a worn out M42 to EF adapter which I will use Super Sculpey to center the Lens to my adapter, cook the Super Sculpey and have a M39 to M42 YAY!
This will be awesome. |

Are you sure that you haven't got an Industar 50 which was made with an M39 fitting for early SLRs ? There is also a Leica version which is the same lens (?) on an extension - again with a 39 mm screw fit. _________________ John |
