Very nice shots from a fine lens!
How does this lens cope with CA?
I had to Hoya lenses (24mm f2.8 and 135mm f2. and both had plenty of CA wide open. |

Very well done !
Perfect subjects for a 400mm
I think that Hoya may be the same as one sold as a Vivitar.

I've been after one of these for ages! Looks like it has some nice bokeh.
Not sure if it is the same as the Vivitar or not, but I'd like to find out! My Tokina made Soligor 400/5.6 TX was very poor wide open and I'd like something better. _________________ Graham - Moderator

Dust on sensor or lens??
For birding i alway used f8 for sharp image.. i keep shutter speed maintain above 1/800 and increase iso to 1K if necessary. _________________ Camera : Nikon D90, Nikon F401s, Canon AL-1, TLR Seagull, Minolta, Konica Autoreflex TC, Zopkuu 4, Yashica FX 3 super, Cosina CT 1A

Looking at the right side of the heron photo, it looks like sensor dust.
Lens dust would be extremely hard to notice because it would be too small and out of focus. _________________ http://www.ipernity.com/home/2419272
