Hi all, guys. I have received this lens as gift last night in mint condition along with a Pentax film camera (mz-50). I have detected that the lens aperture blades stay wide open when mounted on camera, it doesn´t matter if I turn the aperture ring from F2.8 to F22, it will stay wide open. If I take the lens out the camera, the aperture ring works again as it should be, so I could close and open diaphragm correctly. This happens on both Cameras, the MZ-50 that came with the lens and my K-7.
I have not tried much K lenses before, only a couple of Pentax A, and I have never had this problem. All My actual lenses are M42.
Do you have any experience that could help me to find the way to been able to close diaphragm on my new lens?
Thanks on advance, and sorry for my awful english.
Best regards |

This is one of bless of Pentax. Lenses stay full open and will be closed only for taking photos on K7 move start knob to more right position it is DOF preview so it will close aperture to set position. _________________ Pentax K1, K5 and only few manual lenses. |

Hello!!!! Thanks for your quick replies. It seems like something was wrong with the lens itself. Maybe it was a little bit stuck because of many years being unused. Yesterday night I began to play with it again... and surprise! Suddenly the diaphragm works on the MZ-50 at the moment of taking a photo (this doesn´t work before). I put the lens on the K-7 body and everything works as the silk. Now I´m planning to clean the rear element that has a bit of fungus and relubricate the mechanisms.
Cheers!! |
