i didn't try to dismantle my sonnar 180mm but i know that you can unscrew the front ring that has writing on it, and gain access to insides of the lens

I hope to remember that right:
The Zeiss Jena Sonnar 180/2.8 for Pentacon Six has a bowden cable for the iris operation transfer from mount to iris - this is very uncommon.
It has a ring inside the mount that was of no function on my Kiev 60, I suppose it was planned for light measuerment with open iris (don´t find the correct term).
Picture of it on my old site:

Some people say that this lens is not easy to work on. I haven´t a bad remembrance of my work on it (also the iris) - but I suppose I did´t disassembled full. _________________ Camera modification, repair and DIY - some links to look through: http://www.4photos.de/camera-diy/index-en.html

This is zebra version and not the first one, rather before last one.
Stuck blades are very common issue, seek in Google for Zebra version. _________________ -------------------------------

Attila is right.
It's Zebra version and as any respectable Zeiss Zebra blades are extremely proned to get stuck.
Anyway, I don't know how do you want to attack the issue but if you want to do a thorough job you want to clean the blades one by one and then put everything back in place.
Removing the front element is a must.
Load up some pictures, maybe I remember something. _________________ Moderator Himself |

I cleaned a lot of lens before without guides(pentacon 135 and 50mm,tair-11,etc.)but i don't have this lens,i want to buy it and i need to know if it's an impossible job or it's relative simple and how i can do it in the fastest and simplest way(fo example opening it fron the front).
The sample image isn't mine but it's the zebra version.
If you have a guide please post the link,i searched all the web but i cannot find anything!!!
EDIT:
i actually found something:
http://forum.mflenses.com/viewtopic.php?t=23409
http://www.pentaxforums.com/forums/pentax-slr-lens-discussion/115534-carl-zeiss-jena-180mm-f2-8-p6-problem-aperture-ring.html
i'm not sure about what exact version i'll get but it must be a zebra,if i can open it from the front element it will be a piece of cake(like the pentacon 50/1.8!).
I'll may get the lens even if i'm still working on my angenieux bayonet mod. _________________ Sony α200 | cosina 19/35 3.5/4.5 | minolta 28-105 3.5/4.5 RS | 100-200 4.5

I don't have a link or pictures to upload.
If that's the only problem I'd buy it.
It's easy to have it fixed. _________________ Moderator Himself |
