Hi,

I saw in a flea market a 35-70mm f3.6 lens Olympus OM, without an element for focus: do you know if I can replace it with one taken from another lens?
The price is around 30 eur: is it good for this lens in this state?
Many Thanks
I attach a photo

Huh 30 euro I'd pass.......have you look to see if a working Zuiko f4 or 3.5/f4.5 ver is cheaper.

The f4 ver has been tested here, whether you can see the difference between all versions is debatable:-

30 euros is a lot of money for a broken lens of this type. It would cost much more than its worth to repair it. I wouldn't have it for free.

I saw at the mflenses page at ebay a OM Zuiko 35-70 in great shape for cheap,

It's not just a normal helical. The ring that was removed also held in about 300 something loose ball-bearings. It's a ridiculous construction and probably why it wasn't reassembled.

... many thanks to all and a special thanks to themoleman342: after your reply I said definitely... bye bye Wink

A doubt remains: why disassemble that kind of lens?

After your helpful answers I made a purchase: a 35-70mm f4 for €18,00.

I made a quick test at f4: it seems a good lens with a bit of ca at 70mm.

Thanks again

Nice one - a bargain. CA wouldn't be so noticeable on less contrasty subjects. That will always show and exaggerate it.
