Hi, I'm the new one.
I have a used Helios 44M-7 M42 lens in a god condition. The only problem is that on the back the screws were not tighten and the front lens are clicking.
I have to open the lens on the front, but I don't know how. I tried to screw off the cap in the front but it only rotates about 45°-90°. I can't get the cap off.
Can anyone explain me how can I can open the lens? I tried it like here (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-rlDO5Qj6cU) but it won't work. |

Did you wrote something? I just see a full quote.
Edit: I found something here: http://forum.mflenses.com/viewtopic.php?t=56522
The problem I have: I haven't such a tool and tried it with a taped cap shown in the video and with rubber gloves. I can't get it off. Is there a way to disamble it without damage it? |

A bit of lighter fuel around the thread can make a difference as well. Don't drown it, get a cotton bud and soak it then wipe it around the thread. _________________ LENSES & CAMERAS FOR SALE.....

Thanks for the advices. Today I went to a DIY market and bought a rubber gasket. I pushed it over a pipe and with this tool I was able to rotate the plate. Now I can rotate the whole 360° but the plate won't go off. It feels like a children protection from chemicals. I don't want to destroy it so I'll be gentle. But is there another trick to pull it off? |

+1 it is in a screw you need to rotate a lot and look it's position , if rotate only in one place and not come up , means screw is destroyed, you need to make two whole and rotate and pull out with wholes. _________________ -------------------------------

Heheh funny.
I just posted in a thread about the same problem,
The two top threads in this subforum are now about the 44m-7 namering.
This one is not screwed in. It is clicked in.
Now, how to unclick it?
See the other thread where I asked the same question. |

Oh btw, if your only problem is that the namering rotates, you can just leave it that way.
Mine does not rotate. But I have to get it off to get to the screws that hold the focusing ring. |

I took mine off today. But turns out mine was screwed in.
I guess yours does have the tabs, I found instructions on how to take those off and posted them in the other thread. |
