Hello !
I just received a rare zebra lens.
I known the filter thread was totally wrecked ... but i didn't known it stopped the preset ring function.
For now, preset is stuck at f16, so i can still use the aperture ring fully.
Glass : OK
Focus : OK
Aperture : stiff BUT working
Preset ring : stuck
Filter thread : almost DEAD
How YOU would treat the problem ?
1 Disassembly to better fix the thread AND fix the stiff aperture ?
OR
2 Fix the filter thread from outside AND let the stiff aperture like this ?
Thanks !

Forget about it.
Buy another lens. Those helios are not expensive. _________________ Moderator Himself |

I see three options:
1. Use it as-is
2. Purchase another with other problems; build one working lens using parts from each.
3. Purchase a working lens.
I'm not sure which option I'd use. _________________ ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮ like attracts like! ☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮☮

A working Zebra will cost me more than 40 bucks i paid for it
It is more on the 80 bucks side.
I just removed the broken thread part. Because it was more than "bumped"
Some grinding too.
Now preset ring work.
And i can screw filter on thread.
I just need to put an adapter ring with some threadlocker blue paste.
It will serve as my "new" filter thread.
