This morning I decided to have my morning walk at the Heinrichshütte in Hattingen, a town nearby. The weather was sunny, stormy, rainy - all together.

The Heinricshütte was a former stell mill and active from 1854 up to 1987. Today it is an industrial museum and a place for exhibitions and events.

Here few shots with Nikon D700 and AF-S Nikkor 16-35 1:4 G ED and Leica APO Macro Elmarit-R 2.8/100

Some more pictures you will find here

Birmingham, Alabama, was built on coal-mining, iron-ore mining and steel-making. We have several attractions harkening to that foundation. Ore-mining played out a long time ago. Coal-mining and steel-making continue, but on a lower level today.
Rolf, good to see you helping keep those memories alive. I like especially the first shot and the one of the two huge pour buckets ...
