Looks like to be a medium format mirrorless, or at least bigger than 24x36. Interesting too see...

Am I okay? Laughing I'm thinking that is quite reasonable price from Hasselblad! Iirc, it takes $80K - $100K US to play with their other camera systems...

about the same price as the leica sl. it looks about half the size ): and has a format and sensor upgrade, so i'd say yeah, its as reasonable as a $9000 camera can be. i did read some chatter that, depending on aspect ratio, M mount lenses might be used?

In the presentation they only mentioned leaf shutters in the lens and an adapter for other Hasselblad lenses with leaf shutters. Unless there is also an electronic shutter option they forgot to mention, adapting other lenses will be tricky..

Indeed, would be rather senseless if they did not also have an electronic shutter ... Wink

"....(hopefully) a future electronic shutter..."

Ming says he's been told Hasselblad is working on electronic shutter firmware. That would make this camera an interesting platform for some lenses in my collection. Not that I'm
in the market for an 8000 euro camera at the moment...

Unfortunately, if this Hasselblad official on getdpi is to be believed, there will be no electronic shutter:

2: Is there plans to impliment an electronic shutter feature so that people may take the liberty of using the X1D on such platforms as the Cambo Actus, or indeed adapting third party lenses without leaf shutters?

- No, X1D will work only with the new XCD lenses or with all the existing HC/HCD lenses using the adapter. This is mainly to secure the the highest possible image quality which is key for Hasselblad.

Now that would MASSIVELY limits its use!!

Indeed, to me and probably to most MFlenses members, a camera that can only use 2 AF lenses with fly-by-wire manual focus natively and 12 other AF lenses combined with an adapter is of limited use. At least that is one way of avoiding being tempted to spend way too much money on a camera.

Look like Hassy is borrowing style points from Linhoff.

Game changer? Not hardly. Not at the prices it's likely to sell for, at least. Maybe it 20 years or so I can afford a second-hand copy.

well, if thats true someone should tell Ming 'its twice as less interesting'. i think he just lost some credibility with his preview hyperbole.

Laughable... 9000 USD for a slightly bigger sensor
