I recently picked up this lens to participate in the bargain lens challenge. I haven't yet posted my results there, but I will later. I wasn't expecting much. It came in the mail and it was heavy and solidly built and very compact. A hair shorter than the Isco Gottingen 135mm 3.5 and noticeably smaller than the Super Tak 135mm 3.5. For comparison, they are the first and third images respectively in the photo.

Some clues:

Made in Japan, T mount, pre-set, 10 aperture blades, filter ring size is around 48mm, maybe 47.5? I don't have calipers; it's my best guess. My 49mm hood did not fit.

I figured that if it was a T mount, pre-set, how bad could it be? Nonetheless, the image quality surprised me. I will post test shots later.

Thank you!

If you install T2/M42 adapter it will become bigger then both lenses compared. T2 flange focal distance is 55mm.
IMHO lens is not in the same class as ISCO or ASAHI.

Very true, the T/T2 adapter is longer than either the Exakta or M42.

This is a very late example of a preset lens.
Surprisingly these were available until at least 1980. By that time there were several other makers involved and the designs were not the identifiable ones of the 1960s.
This one is I think typical of these from the 1970s (or later) .

Those chrome strips bordering the focus ring are seen on several lenses, including Chinon, Pentor, and I suspect even some such as Sears. I'll guess Sears.

It's a Rexatar. I doubt that helps much with identifying the manufacturer as I gather they used many. Maybe the markings on the face will help.

Here are some test shots that I posted in a separate thread:

That is interesting.
Would you be able to post a link to that ebay sale please.
I am intrigued but cannot find one in sold listings from my ebay search - (which often happens with me as my searching skills are pretty poor)
Thanks
OH.
