A few shots in (and for) a friends' flower shop using LUMIX GH1 with a Cooke Kinic f1.9/1" lens. Shot all fully open. (Further down the comparison with a Zeiss Jena f1.4/25mm Tevidon)

Well, interesting how such an old Petzval lens design behaves...

Klaus

These are magical. Does the lens really provide that curvature of focus?

YEP, all straight from the camera except resized!

That fuzzyness and blur off-center really helps to accentuate
the center which allows some creative use. Need to try what
Petzvals are famous for - portraits!

Here for comparison a few taken today using a freshly converted Carl Zeiss Jena Tevidon 1.4/25mm fully open at f1.4

These Tevidon shots are terrific! All of them, and especially the first one, wow!

Yes Orio, these are indeed some I also like a lot more as compared to some shot in the park.
Maybe the lens is a bit too cold (also visible in these shots). The light here was a mix of artificial
+ natural light, usually very hard to use, but it worked quite nicely...

The strange thing is that the electronic viewfinder EVF flickers a lot caused by that electronic
ballast lighting, no easy to use then.

Which camera did you take these shots with?

Panasonic LUMIX GH1, 12Mpix direct to jpg for ease of use, using full sensor format (some use 16-9 format on a G1 when using such vignetting lenses since this then crops it away - unfortunately not possible on my GH1), but I wanted to see the full performance.

Cooke's results are hard to get use, Tevidon shots are more 'normal' Smile
