This lens going cheaply on Ebay frequently one of the best value for money.

I think, all Bayer matrix sensor are more weighted towards Greens.. I never able to capture good reds... Either my eye/brain system is faulty, it looks to me, reds and pinks are confused by digital sensors. always need some touch post processing...
Whatever be the reason... for #1

There is a technical reason, in many sensors the surfaces for capturing the colors are layered -or something like that- anyway I am not able to explain it technically, but the barren fact is that Red colour is captured with a very low resolution.
This is evident to me whenever I try to photograph red flowers, it's not your imagination, it's real, unfortunately, and one of the main reasons why i would love to have a Foveon camera.
