Hi everyone!

I buyed this camera last January, and I'm trying to clean up this lens:

First of all, is this a damaged coating ?

I have tried to clean it with isopropyl alcohol, hidrogen peroxide, vinegar... but no results at all.

Also, the rear group has some fungus, but until I have the proper tool, I wouldn't open the rear group.

Any ideas? Thanks in advance

CeriumOxide finest polishing powder might help, but the coating will be gone then.

Thanks for your answers.

Any method to remove fungus (and coating Rolling Eyes ) without mechanic tool? Maybe Nitro thinner?

I knew this work http://www.4photos.de/camera-diy/Lens-Coating-Removal.html but really scare me.

I would think this element has been etched by the secretions from the fungus, which means there are craters in the lens surface. On a few lenses that I've tried to salvage that have been etched I have had no success at all, the craters are too deep and there is no chance of polishing them out without the proper machinery, and possibly losing the curve of the lens.
